We got the best Christmas present this year!!! Well, it came in July but we still had fun on Christmas day. :) We had so much fun this year just hanging out at our house all day. Matt's family came over for the first half of the day and then my family came over for the second half. It was a great day of spending time with Allie and our families, opening gifts, eating and just relaxing. What more could you ask for?!

Cookie Decorating
Every year my family gets together to decorate Christmas cookies. It's been a tradition since as long as I can remember and is always so much fun. My brother, however, always finds a way to turn your typical cookie shape into something that it's not intended to be. The year that Matt and I got engaged, he turned two stars into a bride and groom, it was so cute. This year his firefighting must have influenced him a bit. Below is what is supposed to be a mitten, turned into a hand with the finger cut off. Nice, huh?! :) Then there's another mitten turned into a shark, very creative. Then we have the pretty ones...

Visit with Santa

Allie had her first visit with Santa today. It was so much fun. She's definitely young enough to not be phased by being placed on a big man's lap with white hair, a beard and who is dressed funny. They took three pictures and she smiled huge in each one. Ahhh, this is definitely one picture that we are going to look back at for years to come!

Happy Graduation!!!
Today Matt's brother Greg is gradutating from college!!! Greg started off at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids Iowa, then spent the last couple years at Union University in Tennessee. He played baseball all 4 years and finished off with his degree in Communications. We are so proud of him! We really wish we could be there to celebrate but traveling to the Antarctic with a 5 month old just wouldn't be easy (yes, I'm a native Arizonan so anything under 65 degrees is absolutely freezing!) Greg, congratulations and we can't wait to see you (and Brittney!) next week!!!
Uncle Will and Uncle Greg with Allie when she was a few weeks old. She's wearing a shirt that says 'I Love My Uncle'. Matt and I gave them the shirts as a gift last year, that's how they found out we were pregnant with Allie!
Christmas Photo Shoot
Last week Bri came over and took our pictures for our Christmas card. As you can see, it was so hard to pick so I just had to post the others that didn't make the cut! :)

What happens when grandma and grandpa babysit...
One of the best things about living near family is the never-ending supply of babysitters! We are so incredibly blessed to have both my parents and Matt's parents living just miles from us, not to mention aunts and uncles as well. Seeing them love Allie so much and want to be with her makes me feel so good and comfortable. Both my mom and Matt's mom just love to dress her, and dress her up! The above photos are courtesy of Meemaw and Gramsy. :)

Happy 5 month birthday!!!
I cannot believe that my little princess is 5 months old! Allie's personality is so coming out right now and we are having so much fun watching her everyday. I'm a bad mom for saying this but last week she had a little cold and I have to say everytime she coughed I laughed out loud. Have you ever seen Zoolander? Remember 'the black lung'? Allie totally coughed like that, it sounded so fake it was hilarious. I wish I could have gotten it on video. :) Her favorite thing to do right now is eat her toes. It always amazes me how babies can fold themselves in the most interesting positions. Anyways, happy birthday little princess, we love you!!!
